I can do some of this.... I am an R.N. and very interested in nutrition, but
not a physician, nor a dietician... Anyway, I am resting from my
pre-cooking efforts and will go for what I know something about below....

borderline diabetes and recommendations with regard
to
Quoted message said:stones possibilities, possible stones?...
****The only connections that I have read about re: stones are.. Kidney stones and excess calcium
consumption (mostly in men) Gallstones from "drastic" dieting, (as in the protein sparing fasts that
were popular in the '70's, and some of the very low calorie diets of today)
Quoted message said:b. How do you reinforce dietary nutrition recommendations plateauing after some success?...
****Remotivation if it is a case of a plateau from gradual slipping regarding portion control.
remotivation such as lists of Why one wants to lose, participation in group efforts for support etc.
**If the plateau is from a long term very low calorie diet, resumption of a healthy diet and
exercise regimen, especially strength training with enough calories to support basic metabolism and
some for building muscle. Patience and perseverance.

c. How do you get portioning right ?...
*** A food scale. Measuring cups. Rational methods, such as a serving of protein is the approximate
size of the palm of your hand (without fingers) a serving of grains is the approximate size of a
normal fist, a serving of lower fat dessert such as low fat ice cream is the size of a medium
lemon.... If faced with a fried protein source, cut the serving size in half... that sort of thing.
Quoted message said:d. What are the logistics of reserving, storing partial packages and canned eats?...
I use a seal a meal packaging system for leftovers I want to freeze, they can be reheated in boiling
water. I use regular zip lock bags for things I will eat soon. If it is half a can of soup, I use
leftover light margaine tubs. If It is chips, I use rubber bands, fold over the package and refrigerate-
they stay fresh for up to a month. I freeze bread. I store other dry goods in plastic containers.
Quoted message said:e. How do you combine the two dietary nutrition recommendations for
diabetes
Quoted message said:tendency, borderline diabetes and recommendations for stones possibilities, possible stones.
That would depend upon the type of possible stone? A good healthy diet with lots of fruits,
vegetables, limited amounts of healthy fats and lean protein should be safe for all of that. The ADA
pretty much is saying now that carbohydrates, or the glycemic load is the problem, but you can not
go wrong limiting (even doing without) simple sugars and "white" products, such as white bread,
baked junk like twinkies, that sort of thing.

A possible stone or stones have not passed yet. It is not completely clear what kind of
possible stones.
Where might this stone be located and how do you know it is there? If it is in the urinary tract it
is most likely "calcium" or "uric acid". They would be treated differently, as regards dietary
recommendations, only in that if one is taking in too much calcium you would quit (usually this
happens when men take calcium supplements, it is kind of rare)
