  1. This past weekend was great for me in regards to road cycling. I have been gradually increasing my riding time. This Saturday I went out for an hour, and Sunday I went for 2hr10mins - ended up with a 14mph average pace for the 31miles I rode. For me that's pretty good, especially considering there was a pretty steady wind at the turnaround point and steady light rain for the last 40 minutes - temps were upper 30's/lower 40's. This was on a flat rail trail.

This upcoming weekend I can barely wait for - here in Ohio it shouly be close to 70F 🙂 Planning another 1hr ish ride Saturday and pushing Sunday to get 2hr20 to 2hr30 if possible.

My weekday riding does need some work to become more consistent. I'm getting in a few days of anywhere from 15 to 40minute rides.

  2. simular to mine last sat on way back got caught in heavy shower facing in to wind ,thankfully it dried up before i got home ...makes you apprieate the fine days more i think🙄

  3. I'll be out in SW Ohio too, on Friday. I'm taking a newbie up the Wolf Creek Rail-trail. It is about 20 miles round trip, and is kind of scenic. Best of all is that it is not well known so there are few traffic jams on it like there is on the Little Miami Scenic Trail, especially around Loveland.

  4. In lite of an Ironman that had a bad wreck, I set out today to stroll through 112 miles, didn't have any extra tubes with me and as fate would have it, I inflated the tires in the parking lot as soon as I parked my truck only to blow the tube on the rear wheel when disconnecting the pump from the stem, those really long annoying presta stems. I know, not a good idea to ride without extra tubes but my tires are pretty new and I was gonna risk it as I have my past few rides which have been all good but for now this ride is postponed. Thankfully I wasn't out in between cities and had a flat or I coulda had a seriously long walk home. Well, run rather.

I won't be attempting to ride without extras ever again, I can tell you that much.

That's a pretty good average pace for the weather ( I won't ride in cold or rain anymore if I can help it ), and for this early in the season.

Keep after it, you are doing great! 😎
