1. This is a huge and beautiful project...

  2. Yeah, that is one hell of a project. I watched a program on Discovery or summat of the inital work--blasting of piling sites, pouring of pilings, stretching construction cables from two metal towers on one side to a matching pair on the other--very cool. The bridge is definitely an attractive design. Me like cable bridges.

FWIW, don't pee from the roadside on the dam. The police didn't appreciate it when I did so.

It will be defninitely a cool bridge to ride your bike over, that's for sure.

Peeing from a high-winded spot like that is just not wise... The stream can come back at you unexpectedly.

It would make a cool circuit to race across the new bridge, then down to the dam, across, and back up to the bridge. 😎

Yeah, but that main arch has a seriously steep grade for part of it, and the bunny hop over where the two halves of the arch don't meet would be murder.

I had that part covered: I wore hip waders.

Oh in that case it would be exhilarating.

I agree Frenchy, I am still planning on making that cycling vacation somewhere.

It was, what with the beautiful scenery and the warm mist falling on my face.

That warmth and yellow glow in the mist was not from the sun shining through, although you never know. As long as you were in the moment, it was all worth it.

  9. When I tried that, I thought the water was awfully cold. Deep, too.🙂

Well it's like Pope Zehpyrinus said in 211 AD:
If it feels good, do it, especially if it's wrong.
I can fully agree with that. When those bodies turn up someday, I will ask to represent myself, and that will be my closing statement. Afterall, it has been working for centuries.
