  1. [FONT=&quot]Hi,

I am new to the forum and to cycling. I was cycling today and was repeating the phrase "I am a lean, mean, running machine" in my head over and over again. I found it very helpful.

What phrases do you use while cycling? I am looking for a few suggestions that I can use during my run.

    Thanks!

  2. I chant, over and over: The room smelled like a gust of wind from Satan's anus.

  3. It is common for a song to get stuck in my head while cycling, but I never tell myself that I'm a "running machine" when I'm trying to do something different. That just confuses me.

  4. I think maybe that the proper term is mantra rather than incantation, although sometimes I think that it would take some wizardry to find more time for me to ride. I am more like Frenchyge, I tend to get a song stuck in my mind when I ride solo. If I am with a group, we tend to talk to each other instead of chanting to ourselves.

  5. meka leka hi meka hiney ho. and then i can fly. no, really.

  6. That Stuart Smalley [censored] ain't gonna give you MORE COWBELL ! (preferably measured in Watts)

    😎

  7. Depending on the circumstances, it's either "Damn the wind" or "Damn this hill".😠

Or damn the idiot that just left hooked me, or stupid bus gimme more room. The list is endless.

  9. I keep yelling Mothersmurfer (if I have the breath to yell it), till I get to the top of the climb. And then shout back at the climb, Who's your daddy now 🙂.

  10. "Mine's a pint of Guinness, Johnny"

the thought of ordering a nice pint after a tough spin, that's what keeps me going!

    I'll drink to that! 😎

  12. Om mani padme hum. And I'm encouraged to keep spinning the prayer wheels.

  13. To prevent me from getting dropped on climbs "how to fight loneliness"
To grovel home "Peel my skin back just for fun, it makes the miles go one by one"

  14. I often pray...especially when pushing a strong headwind. Jesus give me strength!

  15. I usually get a song.

Don't usually have much control - one just pops into my head.

    This one's a frequent visitor.

    Cool song.

No offense, but I'd put a power drill to my skull if that song were stuck in my head. 😄

  17. Ha - none taken

    It's a good thing we're all different

    🙂
