  1. Stage 1 : Adelaide :

Nice start to the season for the SKY team : first and second spot.

Looked to be an easy win in the end with McEwen beaten by the SKY combo.

    Good crowds at roadside

  2. Just finished watching the short 30 minutes on Versus. It's too bad that channel can't broadcast in full, or at least more than 1/2 hour.

BTW, congrats to Fergie on Greg Henderson. Nice start for Sky.

Yeah, we're only getting half hour highlights of the TDU here in wintry Europe.

Still I am grateful to see some/any road cycling this time of year.

Impressed with the crowd numbers though in Aus!

  4. Yes, tens of thousands is a great turnout indeed.

  5. TDU title bid over for defending champion Davis

    cyclingnews said:

Astana’s equipment – or lack thereof – that has cost the Queenslander a shot at two titles. Davis was remarkably unconcerned after finishing the ProTour race’s first stage more than eight minutes behind the peloton.

“It’s no problem, it’s just one of those things,” said Davis. “I was having a bad day as well. That’s bike racing.

“It was just a bit of a miscommunication, we didn’t have radios,” Davis added. “I was just riding within myself up the climb and found myself 50 metres behind my teammates and they didn’t realise. They just started pulling and I didn’t realise I was on the back so it left me behind.”

Hmm lack of radios or that extra 10KG he;s lugging around 🙄

  6. Lance looks kinda weird in the Shack kit. Maybe red just isn't his color, because all his other sponsors over the past decade have gone with blue (USPS, Disco, Astana).

  7. Wow, Greipel is good... 2 for 2

  8. Greipel is going really well : unchallenged in the sprint finishes.

Leadouts from the other teams look to be pretty disorganised thus far.

    Enjoying the racing though.

The Aus.Prime Minister started the stage today too!

  9. Yes, saying something about TDF to LA and CE, did you catch that?

Yeah I did see that - I did not hear what PM Rudd said but they all seemed to be smiling about what was said, so presumably it was a joke of some kind.

    Nice footage.

  11. 1. Greipel strikes again, 3 for 4.

    2. Nice climb by Rohregger.

    3. WHAT THA $&%@ ARE LANCE AND VAITKUS THINKING ???
