Hi am new to this thread-I have just purchased an elite elastogel chrono real tour trainer and tried to use it-it makes an amazing amount of noise-am wondering if is because I have big fat mountain bike tires -any help really appreciated

Yes, Buy a used wheel and cassette and slick tire and use it for trainer sessions.
That way you are ready to get outside when the weather allows. -
