They do make thin stretchy covers for aero, but you want the warm ones. Suggest you get some light toe covers for the 55* deg days, and then thicker neoprene booties for the cold and wet weather......PI Amfib booties are the ones I use.
-
what about these.....
(edit-nevermind these are lycra, I thought they were neaprene)
-
so what about these, they are a 3mm neaprene? I don't really want a full bootie so these seem to be something that would e helpful. I just want to know if they make a difference in warmth????

Road shoes are typically well ventillated, so even the thin ones which block the openings will make a difference. I'd say thin "wind covers" or toes-only would probably be okay down to around 40F, and the thicker insulated ones would be best if you ride below that.
If you're getting the insulated ones for cold temps, I'd suggest the ones which come up to protect the ankles too.

They will certainly keep your toes warmer. Even thin lycra toe covers make a difference by keeping some of the wind out. -

I have ones similar to that. I find that they give the equivalent of about 5 Celcius.

perfect thanks for the help fellas! I picked up a set of specialized toe covers that are 5mm thick and insulated from my LBS tonight. should help a bit!

Yeah, 5mm neoprene is pretty thick; those will make a big difference. They might be enough for you all winter long, but if not, you can always get the booties later in the winter.
