  1. Can anyone give advise on witch bikes to buy SCOTT,GIANT,TREK ????

    I am looking at the Scott spark 40 ,Giant anthem x3,x2 and Trek Fuel 8

    FWIW. I'm sure the SCOTT is a good bike, but 'why bother?' ... unless you've already got your heart set on it.

    You will almost always get more-bang-for-your-buck if you choose an equivalently equipped GIANT over a similarly equipped TREK.

    Since both Giant & Trek appear to use the same type of rear suspension linkage (there are apparently FOUR types), if the models you are looking at have the same amount of travel, then choose the Giant.

    The THIRD alternative I would consider is the current GT i-drive MTB ... a very efficient variation on the rear suspension linkage type which the Scott appears to use.

    BTW. Shimano SLX is very, very good, but if you can afford the Giant Anthem X2, then that is the one you should probably consider because of the XT components.
