Have you tried to find the driver on official Motorola site? I found the driver for my phone that way.

i just now downloaded the 32 bit driver and i plugged the phone back in but it just started charging again. i honestly don't know the bit drive of this pc. i'm not too pc relevant as you can tell and wouldn't know which one is which anywho or how to find out.
i can probably help you. list exactly what its doing and what your trying to achieve. I take it you want to get your photos off your phone but cant because it aint detecting..is this correct.
what phone model is it too.
plug and play should detect if your pc is win 2000 and above ie xp, vista.
also which way are you trying to connect via is it cable or bluetooth.
sorry it took me a bit to respond, i was blindsided yesterday. 😕
i am on xp and after i downloaded the driver, the pc did recognize that hardware was found (via the pop up) but when i went to find the harware it was no where to be found as on my other and older pc 'removable device' was in the window under 'my computer' if that makes sense but not now.
i am running a cable from the phone to the pc and the phone is a cheapy motorola razor immitation i think, called the Crazor maybe?
and i guess i should mention that i have downloaded pics from this phone to my photobucket account but from a friends computer who had motorola as well as the software on his pc. the pic of my bike is from the same phone, btw.
Well, I would have thought that your PC loaded with Windows XP would have found the approriate driver, but maybe it's because your phone is a motorola knock off and XP isn't able to recognize it exactly.
If the friend you mentioned is able to plug your phone into their PC, using your cable, and everything works...then that tells me it's just a driver issue.
In that case, if they have the motorola software disk they loaded on their PC, see if you can borrow it and load the driver software on your PC. If they didn't load any additional software then check the properties when your cell phone is plugged into their computer to see what the file name is of the driver, then you should be able to copy it to your PC.
You may need to delete any software drivers you had already added, or fall back to a restore point prior to you loading the drivers that didn't work.

thanks paramount. i'll give it a whirl in a few days and see what happens. funny but i downgraded to that knock off after my samsung something or another that i paid $250 for went [censored] after one little ole fall out of the truck four days into ownership. on the other hand this $100 cheap thing is almost bulletproof as it's in my pockets with my tools at work and then some and i've dopped it over twelve feet from while atop of a ladder and not one scratch.
