  1. I'm having trouble on hills of 2-3 km (4-8 min) that are 3-5%. Not steep or long, but climbs that the group hits at 10 -17 mph or so. It feels like I have the legds, but my HR gets up above 170, which is real close to my max, pretty quick and I can't stay on.

What would a good program be to help? Focus on Power intercvals, Lactic Threshold or Vo2 max for this type of climb?

Any intervals suggestions would be great!

All are good areas to improve but this would be most specific:
Within a solid endurance ride include
3-5 hard hill repeats at ~ 90+% of MAP x 4-5 min for 3-5 weeks running.
Once per week, 10-15 min in between so you can hit them hard.
