    Hi

    I hope this thread does not get deleted as it is very dear to my heart.

    On the 26th of November 2003 I experienced something that no parent should ever have to and that was loosing a child. My precious little boy Gabriel was taken from us after spending almost 3 months in the Neonatal ICU of the Royal Childrens Hospital in Melbourne Australia.

    The Doctors and nurses were like angels to us. They made us feel so comfortable throughout our long days and nights sitting in the ward. Without them we would never have been able to fully understand the situation we were facing and the challenges that lay ahead.

    The day that Gabriel died I made a promise to myself that I would do everything in my power to help the Royal Childrens Hospital.
    So I have taken the drive of my promise and my passion of cycling and put the two together to raise money for these incredible people.

    I will once again be taking part in the Murray to Moyne cycling ride on the 27th and 28th of March 2010. It is a 520km ride completed in 24hrs

    hey man, if it's cycling and for a good cause, no problem.

    what team are you with? and what kind of bike will you be riding? and how did you fair on these last rides? good support?

    I am riding with Team Cytotoxic Cyclists from the Royal Children's Hospital. I am currently riding a custom carbon frame with the new Ultegra but I am looking for a bike sponsor for the ride to help raise more money for the cause.

    The last one I did was fantastic and the support crew were amazing. It was an awesome experience

    trying the google something about you guys but cytotoxic was on '08's agenda but can't find anything for '09. too early?

    not trying to be rude, careful is all. you know how it is, especially trans continental.

    i gotta run but i'll check into this some more and catch up with you in a bit, my nephew is hungry and i'm taking care of him tonight, plus i got to fix up his old schwinn so we can ride this weekend.

    Hi there

    Its a legitimate event ( Woody's Murray-to-Moyne ) tho their website leaves a lot to be desired. We're usually in Port Fairy when the ride/race finishes. There is usually between 1,000 and 1,5000 competitors.

    The my cause website is used in a lot of fund raising in Australia: Fundraising event ideas | Fundraise for charity | mycause I doubt they'd let any funny business go on.

    I've never completed the ride, i'd rather go fishing.

    i applaude your efforts and the e-mail will not be neccassary. this weekend i'll get to it as i wanted to find a few more people to contribute. and thank you for doing this Brett, it's the poeple like you that give cycling a good name.

    Thanks again for your support, I am doing this for all the kids out there who have this dreaded disease and for their families to not have to go through what I have.

    i understand. there is a young girl, my nephews class mate, who opened my eyes to ms as i was telling her that yes i ride and long distance to which she asked me if i've ever done the ms 150. i said no and she looked bewildered, just completely shocked that me as a rider wouldn't have participated in this event for a good cause and then she told me that her parents had it and that it's possible that she may eventually get it, hereditary. she's so innocent and young.

    i'll get to that this next time around.

    my apologies for the delay in sponsoring you Brett, work has been hectic. anywho and i post this in public because i hope that many more can see and attain the fact that using a bicycle ( and a forum!) can and does bring out the best in us as a collective.

    the economy is hard and we're all hurting so i'm trying ( doing actually) to get 5 peeps at $20 a piece to donate. we got it, no problem and i hope everyone else on this site does the same.

    We have till march peeps so get to it and do it with a smile!
