So back to where I had originally left off with the tires on my SS...I disliked the performance of the WTB Mutanoraptor 2.4's that came on my bike, so I needed to change them out, but the question was, what would replace them?
I went to Doug's shop and had a look at what he had available. I was indecisive on what to get. Doug threw me a pair of new Conti Vertical Pro 2.3's and told me to go ride them and see if I like them.
I took the bike out the next day to go test the new rubber. I decided to go try them at Bethpage. The tires seemed to work quite well for me. They provided the same suspension characteristics as the Mutano's, but they rolled faster and stuck to the corners better.
So far its only been one ride, but I like them. I will have to put more rides in differing conditions to really see if I will be using them all year round.

I tried the Verticals but found they didn't shed mud as well as the Survivals, and had more knob squirm when you really leaned over in a turn. (which, might not be an issue if you are not 200+ ;-)
