Not the Venus but I have built more than a few 27 inch new Sun rims. Work OK, not expensive, feel a little 'soft' when building but if you use sufficient spokes, make a good wheel.

Haven't worked with the Venus, but I recently built up two rear wheels, an M13II (36-spoke) and an Assault SL1 (32 spoke). They were easy builds and after a few hundred miles on each, they haven't budged. Great bang for the buck.
