BMC recs?

I think there are only four (?) different linkage designs (some ARE better than others), but BOTH front & rear suspension technology (that is, the actual shocks) has changed a lot since 2002 ... and, because of the frame's vintage, it may not have tabs to mount a rear disc caliper (in case that is important to you).

BUT, if the current amount of rear travel on the BMC frame is enough for you (I still only have a hardtail), then the take advantage of the low price ... the front fork AND other components can be upgraded without too much effort if-and-when you may feel the need.

FWIW. I think FOX's (maybe, it was someone else's) rear shock absorbers are/were considered better (well, that was a 2+ years ago, maybe everyone's rear shocks are better, now) -- less bounce -- in case you ever feel a need to change the rear shock.

Also, if you ever need to change the front fork, then I recommend MARZOCCHI (supposedly, as-good-as-new after a rebuild).

Thanks for the reply. The frame vintage is 2007 or 08. The model is Trailfox 01 or 02.
Included rear shock is Rockshox Ario for the TF02 and DT for the TF01.

BMC makes good ROAD frames ...

If the front/rear travel suits your needs AND the price works for you, then you should probably take advantage of the fact that BMC hasn't developed a large following inthe MTB community, yet.
