Up and over is correct. Agree it's an easy mistake to make, since the cable does fit nicely under the tab. Also agree the Shimano drawing isn't helpful at all.

Got it! Now everything is smooth like silk... Ahhh...what a pleasure... WOW..Huge difference between 105 and Ultegra
I replaced a broken 105 FD with Ultegra and noticed ... not one jot of difference. Even the DA shifters don't work any better than the old 105.
I do notice a huge difference. IMHO the Ultegra is smoother, quieter, "quicker" than my 105 (and i kept my 105 pretty well tuned). The Ultegra front shifter is more responsive than 105. I'd say the difference is not as great on the RD but i still notice it... of course, I'm also comparing a 105 chain to an ultegra chain...
