The property is produced in Japan and I have licensed and localized for the US market other properties they have produced. They know I like cycling so this is about the fourth time they have tried to sell me on it.

I do like the property and I actually advised them on certain aspects that I believe would appeal to the US market like the different personalities of the characters, they use company names like shimano on the bike.

While not a Cartoon Network property, it would be good for cable like Tech TV or Comcast. I would produced the english language version and do promtions and sell it for home video, TV, internet...

As for Tyson, I have other plans for his story....

Nice stuff. You never know what will have appeal with kids. When my then 9 year old was watching Avatar, I was mystified by the appeal. Now I hear from my neighbor, his producer, that it will be M. Night's latest film. Speaking of which if you catch his latest movie, The Happening, you can see a lot of the area where I ride and a pivotal scene takes place in Filberts diner, which is our local chow hole after a ride and is right around the corner from me. I was thinking about planning a "happening" ride to hit all the sites of the movie. (It is no sixth sense, but still an interesting way to spend an hour or two).

I like Avatar, too. Characters and story are really great. There's so much more to cartoons now then when we were kids.

To be honest, I think the techno music and Japanese singing was what really made the Overdrive clip. If you changed the music to some boring kids music it would probably ruin the fun (for me, anyway).

All I need to say Lost in Translation...only if you have been to Japan enough times do you get the inside jokes but it is so true!

My first love is horror movies but I can not forgive M Night for The Village. Now you got me interested in seeeing this film. I was going to wait for DVD. Avatar is a great series, well written and good animation. I do not know its ratings but I believe it performed quite well.

Kids today are nothing like us when we grew up with Hanna and such. The kids have much more sophisticated stories.

We would not change the music but probably the vocals. Depends how far we see the property going.

The story is actually quite interesting in its own way, as it starts with a geeky guy who is into a girl who has a brother on the highschool cycling team. She has an eye by looking at the way a guy walks or pedals to sense if he would be a good cyclist and than refers him to her brother...it gets pretty detailed actually.

Just watched the clip again. I guess it's more of a rock soundtrack, but really fun. I love to see the way the cycling is rendered artistically -- the shifting, chain dropping down a cog, etc. -- all great visuals for someone who's really into the sport.

I may have to look for a subtitled or dubbed video to watch.

Wish I had cool cartoons like this when I was growing up!🙂

Never been to Japan, but it is on my must visit list. I actually liked the Village, but as I said, my neighbor is an M Night Producer and Night is a local guy so we stand behind him regardless. (I thought Signs and his last one Lady in the Water were bigger duds). If you like horror , particularly B horror, don't miss the "Blob Fest" in my town every July. They filmed the Blob in the local theatre and we make a big deal of it, lots of fun screaming and reenacting the film in a great old theatre. I took my 5 year old daughter to see Wizard of Oz a few weeks ago in the same old theatre and it was amazing to see it still worked its magic on her. But then my wife dragged me to see Sex & the City last night. The effect of watching Judy Garland and Sex & the City so close together literally caused my penis to drop off.

Love B-horror movies...that is very cool that you have the original theatre the Blob was shot in. I thought for sure that would be long gone. My wife and daughter went to see Sex and the City...not me but I understand as if I have to see another episode of Gilmore Girls I will die. Very painful...

I understand what it takes to make a film and trust me ... it is an quiite an effort no matter what the outcome and I respect producers and directors alot. As for Japan I highly recommend it as Tokyo and Kyoto are quite pretty and close to each other.

Tokyo is like a well made NYC. Amazing, clean trains, wonderful stores, people willing to help you and very polite...a truly unique culture. It is also quite easy to get around as there are plenty of english signs. I would not recommend living in Japan to anyone but everyone should see it. A country that lost a war, has little to no natural resources to speak of, can build such an economic power speaks volumes about the people.

Yeah it is absolutely nice anime.Maybe some part of it is very unlogic such as the kid on the 1st try in race did exaggerated well.I watched it more than half a year ago.AND I HOPE TO THEY REALEASE MORE NEW EPISODES!!!CHEERS!!! 😄

It is a must if you like B-Horror and want to see it in a "real theatre" as opposed to the ridiculous multiplexes they have today. This theatre is the real deal with a balcony and everything. Built in 1903, it showed "Birth of a Nation," hosted Harry Houdini, and first talkie, the Jazz Singer. The festival is fun, very tongue in cheek. If you look like Steve McQueen, you shouldn't miss it. Also good riding in and around VFNP. You can hit three covered bridges in a 90 minute ride. I just posted about an accident on another one of my routes so I am going to keep closer to the routes that are around here, no guardrails or embankments.
