RTL (and the Vietnam tour, for which I didn't have the hub in time for) were factors that pushed me over the edge for buying it. So, the race did influence me, but it wasn't the reason I bought it.
I really love the hub. It really renewed my interest in long-distance unicycling, as I was starting to get bored with it (I like physical challenges, and riding a long distance only challenges your crotch pain).
I'm confident that Florian will stand behind the product and help me get it going. If I don't get it before the race it won't be the end of the world. I'll just end up riding (slower) on Jason (meaestro8's) coker.

Thanks Mike! I'm already borrowing back my old Coker frame and wheel build (extra wide, SS spokes, super-strong Adelman build). I've put tons of miles on that wheel, so I'm pretty comfortable with it. Plus, I can drop my same seat onto it, so the only real difference from what I have now is the geared hub (and the Nimbus frame, which isn't that great, IMHO -- it is too flexy).
but i work with these kinds of gearboxs alot on my robotics team i really think as harper said it's the bearings especially if he uses cone bearings not sealed this fit all your sysmtoms if it cone the good news if it is cone bearing that are the problems they many just need to be tighten now i'm not sure about you mech skill but these thing are not fun to work on but it can be done with some tools and alot i mean alot of time
