He rode in Paris-Nice. I cannot remember if he was in the Basque Tour or not. But he has been riding.

I just checked the start lists and result lists to be sure and he didn't do Paris-Nice or Pais-Vasco. But ok I can see he did ride Vuelta Asturias in may.

I read an article on him & they are saving him for the Tour..... he raced something like 140 days last year so this year they want him fresh.... not sure if that is Mayo fresh but I think its a good plan... he's an exciting rider & thought he made a very boring Vuelta slightly less boring last year....

Strange idea, unless he's in deep preparation. Is he riding Dauphine or Suisse? Even Ulle used to start heavy racing by about Sarthe.

when he lead out Valverde and Zabel jumped with Bettini on his wheel, fool Ete, should have been able to beat il grillo, if he had not been in the wind for 150 metres after 270km.

People capable of attacking on the descent make stage races much more interesting, and the Dauphine route is looking pretty good this year for Sanchez to use those abilities to his advantage. Time to add him to my fantasycycling team.

Yes, the first googled result is an Outside article from 2005 claiming exactly that ... 🙄

and winning L'Avenir or coming 7th on GC, what's the difference, the point is he made an impression (channeling thunder :p).

I had to laugh at the second paragraph of Cycling News' L'Avenir race summary (from confusedfan's link)...
