    Found this gem about The Lance on another forum:

    He was on a USO tour with Robin Williams & Lewis Black last year. Two friends of mine were there backstage and said both Robin & Lewis were great with everyone. Lance stood around with his arms folded, not wanting to take photos with anyone or talk cycling with the Marines who said they were really into long distance cycling. My friends said it looked like the only reason Lance was there was to get his name in a few papers. USMC can't stand Lance Armstrong!!

    Oh dear. This is like a never-ending looped episode of Gilligan's Island - you know how it's going to end,you know how it'll get there, and you know which part which players will play.

    Yes, he road a bike fast and won a race several times. Yes, there's a freaky Oedipus-association thing going on, and yes, he was and remains a fairly polarising figure.

    Ultimately, as long as he's in the public eye, it's his choice to behave like a [censored], or not, and to incur the wrath of the denizens of the internet, or not. But I doubt if he gives a [censored] what anyone on an internet forum thinks, and if he does, he's more insecure than he seems.

    I think Armstrong would be amused, it seems he is the type of character to get off on stuff like that. See: "did he wait" accusations against Ullrich - just a very pugnacious and belligerent individual. It was a character trait that made him great.

    What cannot be denied is that he has been the most divisive rider in the history of the cycling.

    His involvement in the sport has managed to polarise opinions on both the "yea and nay" sides.

    You know, reading this threat, I'm having a massive attack of Apathy. Last I checked the guy stopped racing a couple of years ago, so unless you want to talk about the races he competed in, I just don't care anymore. The obsession among the lovers/haters of the man on this forum is just way to strong. Go chill out 😎 .
