  1. I have not been on the newsgroups in quite some time, but I recently started looking through them
again, for reasons other than my cancer. In any event, it was so nice to see you posting this a.m..
I am sure that you do not remember me, but when I was in my first year of cancer surgeries and
treatment, you helped me with many answers and support.

It is nice to see an old friend and to know that you are doing well.

    Take Care, Sharon

    Dear Sharon,

You are right. I don't remember you right now, but I'm sure that if you tell me more, I'll sure
will remember who you are. Anyway, it's also nice to see that you are doing well. I recently
celebrated my 5 years "anniversary" and am doing well. After a long period of not being subscribed
to this newsgroup, I resubscribed, as my step mother has ovarian cancer. I'ts strange because I do
remember your name though... You might soon see me on an Alzheimer group:-) Happy Holidays, please
    write back.

  3. Regine,

I was diagnosed with adenoid cystic carcinoma of the breast (a very rare cancer) in 1998, had 2
lumpectomies and a partial mastectomy (all right breast), then lymph node dissection, then rads,
then plastic surgery. I do not think you would remember me for that. But you might remember me
because you and I talked a great deal about having a rare cancer. You helped me to find different
places for information. And you gave me a shoulder to cry on when the going got really tough.

I just wanted you to know that I listened to you and other people on this newsgroup. I learned a
great deal and evenutally created websites for my rare cancer, then other rare cancers, then
pediatric cancers (which statistically are rare in the US). And I created a network of support
people for the pediatric newly diagnosed. I hope to do the same for all adult rare cancers.

I am just so glad to see you doing well. I am sorry about your step-Mom, though. Ovarian cancer is a
toughy. I hope you can find some help for her. If you want to look at the websites, you can start
here and work your way into the others listed on this page: rare-cancer.orgrare-cancer.org

I hope you have a wonderful holiday season also. Thanks for your past help and support. Take
    Care, Sharon
