To record routes in The Hyperpower (as a Canadian, I am an expert), the
standard trick is to just use a GPS with a logging function.

This one appears to have no screen capable of mapping or showing a path,
but trades that for a very low price.

The feature of directly seeing your route in Google Earth is spiffy, but
probably just translates its internal format for GPS waypoints into a
KML file (Google Earth's format for metadata of all sorts) via the PC
software.

100 Euros seems pretty cheap for what it does, but you have to balance
that against buying something like the $300-odd price of a Garmin Edge
305, which is almost the same product plus a logging heart rate monitor.

And then there's this incomprehensible-except-for-marketers press
release:

Which seems to suggest you can now buy an iBike (bizarre or clever power
meter with no power sensors) and a Garmin something or other, and get
the devices to talk to each other so you get speed, power, cadence,
heart rate, and GPS coordinates in one log. Which is nutty.

Returning to your Decathlon toy, it still seems to be well-priced for
the features offered.

well Bond, after plugging the flashjiulkight into the cigar lighter,
visit Nashbar for the Dinotte then let me know if the microsoftware
allows a GPS/PC to mimic the megayuan Polar ?
Always have a hadr time figuring that out-does the gizmoflack say the
gizmo floats in water or what...?

The iBike-Garmin mess appears to offer everything but a temperature log
in one package. I think.

Note that grade can be derived from altitude and distances,

LED's from the Nashbar $150 flashlight: the outsides are similar but
not incriminating?

the software does not substitute for the Polar watch? caws the watch
is the computer screen+brain
does having the computer's brains on your wrist produce a positive
training effect over looking at the data later? and pondering?
