  1. Need confirmation/reassurance please.

    If I understand Sheldon Brown's (R.I.P.) chart, any Shimano 10 speed
    brifters are compatible with any Shimano 9 Spd cassette/chain/rd/fd.

    Correct or not?

    Correct, any 10 speed STI levers can be used with a 9 speed rear
    derailer/cassette via the alternate cable routing.
