    Question: wHAT SHOULD I DO

    - OPTION1

    - OPTION 6
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------

ok so i have a broken KH style seat base and a completely striped down
to bare metal KH. I cant touch it because the oils from my hand will
contaminate it and the paint won't stay on if i powder coat it. I am
considering buying a CF seat base *AND* powder coating it white. i only
have about $110 and a CF base cost about that but that is about how
much it will cost for me to powder coat. the problem with doing both is
that there really is no way for me to make money and i don't have
    enough for both.
    So my options are...
1 Powder coat it and ride with my other KH seat
2 Buy a CF seat base
3 Powder coat it and try to convince my dad to lend me some money
4 Spray paint it and buy a CF base
5 Have the local auto shop paint it for near nothing and buy a CF
6 Try to find some way to make money.

  2. I went with option 3, if you're serious to your dad about giving him
back the money, he should have no problem with lending it, plus you an
autoshop is kind of a gamble :/

  3. First off, Id say get the CF. Who cares about some paint? I would be
    more concerned with performance.

Also you should not be too worried about touching your frame. The paint
will stick fine. They will likely rub it down with rubbing alcohol or
    something anyway.

The auto body shop would surely make the frame look good, its no powder
    coat tho.

Its not like your frame will rust, so painting it should not be a huge
    deal.

  5. I'd go with the new seat base I think. Although, what were you saying
about having a spare seat? If you have a spare seat then just use that
until you have the money for a new one. Also, about the frame, I have
been running a bmx for a few years with no paint on it. It was stripped
down to the raw and then just sprayed with a £5 (about $10) can of
clear laquer just to stop any surface rust. It's been fine and looks
really cool. The Laquer will wear a little from heavy riding but you
get some interesting colours from moisture that has got to the surface
    of the frame.

Anodising can get expensive and it doesn't last as long as even spray
paint would (if done correctly). It is also hard to get the colour you
want, due to the way the anodisin chemicals are mixed to create the
colours. You would have to find somebody who would be able to do it for
you (not as many anodisers as powder coaters, I don't think).

Is the KH aluminium or steel? Because if it is alu then you don't even
need to worry about laquer, it can't rust.

  8. Voted 1

When I was 10 or 11 I had a paper route, few years later I also babysat
for friends of my Mom and mowed neighbors' lawns. When I was 14 I
sometimes made 200 a month and if I applied myself I could have easily
    made over $600/ mo.

I knew a kid who made close to $1500/ mo. He did similar stuff to me,
but a lot more, as well as buy candy at bulk and sold it to kids at
school for a bit more than you would pay at the market (eg. 25c. vs.
    20c., for the convenience).

Option 8.73 would be provide clear thread titles, capitalize properly,
punctuate properly, and spell properly. That is an option I would
    gladly select.

  12. I think having parts that work is more important than a dang pant job.
Just spend the money on what you need most and maybe work for the other
stuff. I know Publix will hire baggers at 14. You might want to see if
the grocery store in your area does the same. I'm sure there are ways
to make money at your age.

I've tried. The local grocery store (which i rode my giraffe
through😎 ) doesn't hire until 15🙁 . I am going to try to get my
dad to help me find a job this weekend. We will see.
