Very proud of him today..........being sick from day 1 with the
stomach bug and not quiting would of been good enough for me.

Yep, surprised the heck out of me. I was thinking he might blow his shot at
Lantern Rouge, although it looked like he had that one pretty much in hand.
Too bad he got that flu bug. Been there, had that, although for me it was
almost entirely upper respiratory (and two stages! Thought I was over it and
then it came back, worse, 4 days later. No fair!). To keep on riding through
that takes guts. And to keep on attacking, Don Quixote-style, in the final
stage... you knew it wasn't going to work out, but you really wanted it to.

I've been sick as a dog for three weeks and I've finally started to turn the
corner today. I wouldn't wish this on any rider. Imagine having to worry
about getting sick and being able to train for the spring classics? Wouldn't
that do for George Hincapie?

It had me nailed for about two weeks, which is 1.75 weeks longer than just
about anything nails me. Ever. I just don't get sick very often, and it's
usually for a pretty short time when I do. Of course, when then one got me,
did I stop riding? Of course not! It sure did slow me down though. My wife
was giving me a bad time for not getting a flu shot, but then she saw the
stories about how this years' flu shot was less than 40% effective, about
half normal. Nobody saw this one coming.

Guess it's who you are. One of their esteemed "Breakaway specialists"
with his "suitcase full of courage" goes 20km in and they gush the
whole day.
Cool as [censored], and great for the team when they cut from Mike leading
the stage, solo, into commercials, and the first one was for the
team.
I'm still not liking the uniforms much, but they do really stick out.
I think they'll grow on me, just not enough for me to ever wear one.
