I was doing a 100 mile ride yesterday to train for my adventure on the
Dalton Highway in May, and part of my route was on some nice single
tracking in Point Mugu State Park in the Santa Monica Mountains just
North of Los Angeles. The trail was moderately difficult. I rolled over
an eighteen inch drop, and bam, my left crank was bent in and slightly
twisted. Which is weird, because I've done much larger drops and landed
them much worse than this.
So that slowed my pace down quite a bit and I had to unicycle the last
30 miles of my ride with a bent crank, in pitch blackness, down the
Pacific Coast Highway....absolutely terrifying.
Luckily, i ordered the KH Moments last Friday, and I get them tomorrow!
