Does anyone have some good links available where I can locate some
anodized wheels, spokes and spoke nipples? Preferably American made.
Seems that 99% of the sites I have found have been China or Taiwan
manufacturers. THANKS!!!!

specifically looking for 20 and 16inch rims. I am going to need to
replace mine after the winter as the ice here has taken it's toll on
mine. So I thought I would start shopping around now. -

20 and 16" hmm? Do I see this taking a recumbent twist? Velocity rims are made in USA and Aus. as far as I know, and offer good options for your sizes.

Normal brass plated nipples could possibly be painted but colored
nipples in less suitable materials such as aluminum introduce other
problems. You might consider plated brass nipples and silver rims with your accent
color in the handlebar tape or some stickers maybe? If this is a
vehicle, as opposed to an art project, that would be more dependable

http://www.velocityusa.com/default.asp?contentID=609Uh, Velocity rims are made in AUS not USA, anagrams notwithstanding.
Although we are impressed with Velocity (our #1 rim vendor) and we feel
they offer the best available products for most of our purposes, for a
16 or 20 inch rim, there are Alex rims of suitable quality. Are you
dancing with xenophobia or is there some actual reason to prefer
Australia to Free China ROC?

I stand corrected, thank you. As for your last comment, I assume it was directed to the OP. I have no such issues with Taiwan. -

http://www.velocityusa.com/default.asp?contentID=609Yes you DO see a recumbent twist here. The 20 inch is for my trike
and the 16 is for the BoB trailer. -

Nothing to be offended about. I am only trying to support the workers
here. I have NO problem with the other parts on my ride that are made
overseas. Just thought I would splurge a bit and do some "hometown"
support. -

Generally speaking, generic stuff has moved off-shore.What does it take to make a spoke, or a nipple? We (USA) have out-sourced
this kind of thing.Americans have specialized in what we do best - thinking - specialty
products, high end stuff, etc.J.
