i guess i have a "good" problem that i was wondering if i could ask about. i've just inherited a seven elium ti/carb frame basically for free. i currently own a cervelo soloist aluminum team version. i knew little about seven until i researched things a bit and found out just how high end their stuff is, and (gulp) how expensive. i mainly race crits with a few RRs thrown in to balance out my training for volume. After calling home base at seven factory, i found out the frame i got is more of a "sporty, comfort" frame as opposed to a race frame (the guy mentioned it had something to do with the diameter of the seat stays).
My question is: is it better to go with the Cervelo soloist for the aero benefits despite it being aluminum and a bit more heavy, than to take less than desired "sporty" seven and but opt for less weight, and more response/comfort with the carb/ti combo? My instinct says stay with the cervelo b/c it's more suited to crits (i think?). Also, sorry to be over the top, but can the seven be converted somehow? i mean isn't it about just taking the measurements from the cervelo and reproducing them on the seven frame? how much would i really lose.
More info:
6'1" 162 lbs
both are 58" frames
thanks for any insight.
