Miles Todd and I returned to Laguna Hills area of Orange County to finish the ride that was
"POSTponed" the week before (was the JRA ~VIDEO~ thread"😉.
Anyway we managed to get in some fun riding on a nearly typical December day in SoCal. Meaning we
had to debate wither to start the ride off with arm warmers or just tough it out for the first 30

I don't know who that poseur was you were riding with, but it certainly couldn't be Miles "I never
crash and you can't prove it if I did Todd"! The bike looks right since there's no shifters and
it's the color of pond algae. The pasty white complexion looks about right too. But the give aways
that it can't possibly be Miles is that the socks match and he's not wearing a flamingly fay roadie
team jersey!
Miles sure isn't getting the love lately though. First my infamous Homer J. Simpson Doh! for all of
his dabs up in Kernville and now this!

So I found out the name of that amusing little singletrack. It is called "Marie Callender's" but I
couldn't tell you why it is called that.

I think he said he got caught paying too much attention the rock-drop section ahead (trail turns to
the left and down from the endo spot) and not enough on the stuff at the wheel. You can see in the
slo mo part that the front wheel dug into soft stuff pretty good.

Chris...its a hiking trail only in the Laguna Wilderness Park, parallels between the 73 toll road
and Boomer Ridge. Go West on Boomer Ridge past all the gates that drop into Crystal Cove State Park,
right before the last gate on Boomer Ridge look for the newly bulldozed area on the right (north)
with brush laid to disguise the trail. It was put there by the Park Rangers to keep bikes out. Trail
continues along Laurel Canyon and drops you back out on Laguna Canyon Road by El Toro Rd, or you can
use the wildlife tunnel and go under freeway to Camarillo Rd....also closed to all hikers and
bikers. Rangers tell me they are working on opening up those areas to bikes....maybe sometime in
2006. You can ride out there if sign up and train as a park volunteer and give them a day a month
volunteering.

Well, it mostly was a piece of cake, but for a couple of spots. The slalom through the rocks was
tricky, and the really steep loose dirt downhill was a little bit tough. The spot where I endoed
wasn't bad, but I crashed because I was too busy trying to see the line on the next set of rocks,
and not paying attention to my front wheel. The next set of rocks was the only spot I walked on the
trail. I'd say that was the "not a piece of cake" spot.
