I had shin pain in last 3 races. Two full and one half marathon. What I
found strange is that I never experienced the pain during my training runs.
It is just outside of shin bone. Only in my left leg. The pain starts at
around one mile and goes away after 5-6 miles in the race. Could it be
becased by low temperature? All races started early morning while my
training runs are usually later in the morning. Or, I may be running too
fast than training pace due to race excitement. Or, is it becase I run in
the middle of the road during the race, while I usually run on the side or
bike trail? I found the roads have more slope to the side than bike trails.
Does anybody have idea of what may be causing my shin pain? I also want to
know if this is something I need to be concerned. TIA

A jogger's leg pain is mysterious?
Sorta like a swimmer wondering why he's wet after every swim.
