Most any stupidmarket will have shelled nuts in various forms in their
baking aisle.
But you neglect to indicate what quantity you're looking for... for
bulk amounts on line is probably your best choice for price and
especially freshness... nuts go rancid rather rapidly, especially high
oil content hazelnuts (about 80pct). If all you need is about a pound
you will get a fresher product at your local food stores, especially
this time of year, if you buy in-shell nuts and shell them yourself...
it's not so difficult to shell hazelnuts (a decent pair of simple slip
joint pliers and an hour is all you need), and they're about the
easiest to shell if you want whole nut meats.
I wouldn't buy any nuts from an open bin, nor would I buy any shelled
nuts other than vacuum packed... those cello bags of shelled nuts are
almost guaranteed to be rancid.
