Is it OK to post an Allrecipes recipe to the newsgroup? I found a great
one I'd like to share but don't want to go to jail anytime soon.

It should be alright if you post the recipe with attribution.

Post it and attribute properly. Don't let Steve scare you.

Steve? I hadn't followed him on that one. I always wonder about

You aren't stealing it and pretending it's your own if you attribute
properly. You're providing free advertising for the site.

Presumably you would post it because you had tried it and liked it.
So you're going to include comments about it, suggestions for
alternatives, report any substitutions you made, and other comments.
So it's not just their recipe, it's your story about a dish you made
based on their attributed recipe. Sounds good to me. If (as a few
have occasionally done) all you do is copy and reprint their recipe,
it would be useless and uninteresting. -aem

I say go ahead and post the recipe. Most of the recipes there
probably came from other sources anyway. There's probably only a
handful of them where the author can truthfully say I made this up
entirely on my own.

If you have qualms about posting the recipe, just post the link to it.

With proper attributions, no problem Dora.

Nobody will send you to jail for posting a recipe or three from a
site devoted to recipes, especially if you attribute it.
The worst that can happen is they get your home and car in civil
court; No jail time.
Chances are the recipes has appeared elsewhere in a couple dozen
more sites, and the original would be hard to track down to the
true source.

They had posted 4 messages (spam) in 8 hours. You're just
encouraging more spam.
And I'll shut up at that. (Damn - Did I actually just say
that?). It's only temporary though.

had hiccups?
It hiccuped four completely different posts containing four
different recipes?

what do you usually do with your kippers? i had a friend who was
queer for them, but i think he mostly just scarfed them straight out
of the can.
