Eeeeew. Since I'm in the Seattle area it wouldn't surprise me if they put a
Starbucks *in* the McDonald's! Those things are freaking everywhere!

Interesting. Some McDonalds' here have been selling cappuccino, lattes
and etc for years and years, in wee cafes ("McCafe"😉 built into the
corner of the premises. They also sell the kind of pastries and cakes
that one would expect in a coffee shop.

They make money hand over fist on it, as you could probably guess. The
biggest one here is right across the road from Starbucks.

The coffee's better than Starbucks', too.

I dunno. I took my daughter to McD's yesterday with my ex-SIL and her
daughter, and I had a "regular" coffee and she had a "latte". the two
dollar price differential didn't seem worth it after I'd added sugar and
half and half.

Since DH and I get senior price (here it's $.43 each), I'm wondering what
the dollar differential would be (or the cost would be) of that latte.
Everytime we have a latte, capp, americano, etc. at home now with our
espresso, we mentally, smugly chalk over another few dollars toward the cost
of these machines.

We don't go often even for the McDo's $.43 coffee, but we're always greatful
when we NEED a cup and it's available at such a low price. We're the
seniors that stand in line for them to make a fresh pot -- they usually have
an ear tuned because when I say we're waiting for a fresh pot, the manager
or someone in charge will say before we ever order that 'they're waiting for
a fresh pot.'

One day a senior (more demanding than not) was waiting ahead of us for a
fresh pot, and the man-kid reached up and poured the old pot into his cup.
When I went over to get the cream, he came up and said, "Do you think he
poured the old coffee into my cup?" I said that I believed he did. Whoa,
what a wet hen! I watched the whole scene play out. So funny and pathetic
we seniors are.

I won't be rushing out to try it. I gave up on the golden arches long ago.
I could be wrong, but I doubt that they will be using real espresso

If I have a choice I'd not go to McDonald's either. Most of the time I

Since I'm getting the hang of it, I watched lately two gals doing some
coffee drinks -- yaaaaaaaaak! One coffee drink looked like a glass full of
