That's ok, friend of mine finally broke down and got a new computer and
decided to get Cox internet service. She had been a very long time AOL user. I told her that AOL was now free
if you had a broadband connection.I also mentioned that she had email through Cox. But I still get email
from her at AOL.I tried, I really tried. At least I got her onto the free version of
AOL. -

This is hilarious! I don't watch 24 but the references to all that old
technology brings back memories 🙂 One time at my last job we were
preparing to move (we did that several times) and were cleaning out old file
cabinets. Found a copy of an old purchase order from the 1980's for
ordering a new PC with (amber!) monitor, modem, etc. The price for the
total package was somewhere around $10,000. We all had a good laugh about
that, and that was in 1995. By then we'd upgraded from 1200 baud to 9600
baud modems and were still way behind the times 😉I had AOL back in the late 1980's (and Prodigy). My email client (sorry
folks, it's Outlook Express) doesn't yell "You've Got Mail!" and for that
I'm grateful.Jill
