OH! It was a fasting number. She also took blood to send away and will contact me if I need a glucose tolerance test. I won't get the results from that for another week or so.
Probably doing an HbA1c. It's sort of an indicative of average blood glucose over the last 3 months (with lots of caveats).
Just so you know what the numbers mean when you get the results... under 5% means you're probably not diabetic. The AACE guidelines say diabetics should be treated to keep their numbers under 6.5% and diabetics working hard at it aim to be under 6% to make the "5% club".
