Wet and all that and snow every winter. no seasonal rider here.
Commute also between bike and motorscooter depending on weather report
which one I use. I spend more time in the saddle then most and when it
comes to doing it in the dirt I have the wall full of number plates
and medals. And at 54 next month I make most young ones look sick.

Indeed. I've got a set of knobbyless MTB tires for just such
occasions. Then again, if time is plentiful and money is short
there's something to be said for time spent fiddling with the bike and
the money saved is a nice little bonus.

I should find someone to trade me some knobby tires for those slicks,
now that I have a seperate bike for pavement riding.

Why buy when I can fix. And they are pretty new, still have the rubber
hairs. And they fold so I know not cheap. I rode it today and
everything worked out just fine.

Snows on the way so those pavement tires won't make it here. Spin
spin slip slip knobbie make great snow tires next to studded ones.

True, true. I can see your point, and if you made a set of tires that
work for you, more power to you! I just hope you don't end up missing
those side knobbies too badly once the snow does come. Then again,
snow traction is limited anyway, so you likely won't be turning at
high speed like you would when it's dry.
