Well, what exactly did she say?

You know, almost all people do become diabetic before being
diagnosed...that's mostly how it works....

BTW, what did you find out about your cholesterol? Have you seen the doctor
again? Did you get the report with all of the bloodwork numbers?

Oh, finally, don't be afraid. I've been a type 2 since I was 23..and I'm 49
now...no complications or anything...no meds...I do low carb and being a T2
helps me keep on the straight and narrow. Your life is by no means
over...in fact, it can be better than ever!

I have also had both eyes fixed with inplants. The last few weeks I have
noticed that the vision in the left eye has really deteriorated. I
bypassed going to see the optometrist, and made an appointment directly
with the ophthalmologist, who had operated on both eyes. Apparently,
there is a common phenomenon of a "haze" forming on the surface of the
implanted lens. All it needs is a treatment with a yag laser, and it
clears up. I had that particular cataract removed two years ago. You
might want to check into this; hopefully it is something that simple.

Actually, the way you describe it, it might be just as you suggest!!!!

Hopefully that may be the answer. Here in the US we have three different
levels of eye care. The optician is the guy who is trained in grinding
the lenses, centering the lenses to the eye etc. Next level up is the
optometrist, who is called "doctor". and has had far more experience
with eye diseases etc. He measures the eyes, checks for glaucoma etc.
Then the top guy is a Doctor of Medicine, who has then specialised and
done a residency ( registrarship)in diseases of and about the eye.

Being originally from England, I think your optician seems to be a
combination of the US "optician" amd "optometrist".

Good luck, anyway! I am having my eye zapped on the 27th... I am looking
forward to having two "good" eyes!

I hope everything comes out well, good luck with that. If you do have
diabetes, you're probably at a very early stage, so you can control and
maybe even reverse it. Sorry to hear about the problem you're having with
your left eye after surgery, too. If high blood sugar is the problem,
low-carb will bring it down. If the doctor wants to put you on diabetes meds
of any sort, let her know that you're doing low carb, that makes a big
difference.
