  1. Well, the trick or treaters have pretty much cleaned out the candy bowl.
I had three bags of candy in there. Next year I'm going to have to beef
    up that amount.

This was a first. We've always lived on the 2nd floor on busy commercial
ways so you'd never get trick-or-treaters. But we've been in this
neighborhood for for seven months now and casual observation told me
that there are lots of kids so I knew I had to do something.

The prime period for trick-or-treaters was 6:30PM to 7:30PM which
    coincided with my cooking dinner.

One kid loved the Almond Joys. Blew my mind to be honest.

I made Pork Chops with Sour Cream and Dill sauce along with some rice
and a little spinach on the side.

One kid had to be about 14 or so. When I opened the door the kid looked
at me and said "Are you making dinner? It smells delicious."

Who knew I'd get a food critic for a trick-or-treater.

That's kinda neat! The pork chop dish sounds great. Recipe?

I know, I was stunned to find a foodie that was so young.

Got it off epicurious.com a number of years ago, it's from Bon Apetit
1995. Reading the reviews is interesting, some people love it (self
    inluded) while others hate it.

It would seem that no matter how you slice it, it
    still comes up Velveeta.

I was a foodie as a kid. Always reading cookbooks. I also watched Julia
Child and the Galloping Gourmet. I think they were about the only cooking
shows we got at the time. No cable.
