I agree cateye are the best have tried numerous other ones but nothing beats cateye for me

I have a VDO C3DS, which has both wireless speed and wireless cadence. I have the speed transmitter on the front wheel, to be a bit closer to the computer, but since it is wireless you can put it on the rear wheel if you use your bike on a trainer. It uses digital transmission techniques, so that if there is a short-term interference the transmitters store a count of the missed magnet pulses - which then get transmitted once the interference is over (so you don't lose the data).

I found mine very cheap on e-bay, as a slightly-used one, but there are also some decent deals in it from the mail-order folks (like Nashbar or Performance Bike).

My only complaint is that battery replacement is probably almost an annual event. You also need to remember or write down a couple of the stored data items (like total miles traveled over multiple trips) if you want them to carry over after battery replacement.

It doesn't have an altimeter, nor does it have a heart-rate sensor input. And no GPS. But for what it does it does a good job, at a decent price.

There are so many good ones available that you really need to do some research on your own to find the one that will give you what you really want. Everyone has a favorite that they will recommend to you. I use a Shimano Flight Deck, but you have to have compatable brifters and the cadence is a virtual cadence calculated by the gear that you are in and the speed of the bicycle. With this setup, you get a cadence reading whenever the bike is moving, even if you are not pedalling but mearely coasting. The nice thing about this computer is that it tells you what gear combination you are in so that you don't have to contort your neck to see what cog you're using on the cassette.
