Hi I am looking to buy a (road) bike online. I know almost exactly what I need but I do not know
how to size it. I have a rider height and inseam height. I know that I should have ~1" from the top
tube to the inseam. Most of the sellers give frame size in cantimeters (e.g.: 58 cm in
cgi.ebay.comeBayISAPI.dllOpen ↗). Can anybody explain
what is the correlation between frame size and rider height or refer me to the sizing chart?
Thanks! Michael

Road bike is not very specific, I would assume you meant a racer/sports bike?
Cheers, Michael

Thanks! MichaelAbout 2/3 of your inside leg is normal. Top tube length is more important anyway, as you could end
up having to buy a ridiculously long or short stem if it's not right. FWIW a 58cm frame is too big
for most people under 6' - and watch out, as some bikes are measured from the centre of the BB shell
to the centre of the top tube, and some are measured to the top of the top tube, which adds 1cm or
so to the "frame size". -

automatic 58cm buyer on most hybrid frames but I looked at Giant and the design is such a 55cm fits
me in their range and the next up too large really. -
