  1. Someone has posted here a couple of times about a site/program that
    facilitates giving surplus stuff -- furniture, appliances, computers
    -- away to people who actually want/need it. Sorry to be so vague but
    that's all I can remember. Can anyone steer me to it? -aem

    I use it and it's great. I've gotten computer monitors, computer parts and
    a vacuum cleaner.

    I use it and it's great. I've gotten computer monitors, computer parts and
    a vacuum cleaner.

    We gave away a broken telescope -- the lady was convinced her SO
    could fix it, and that was better than throwing it away...

    You will love it. I have gotten sooo many of my small appliances and
    other good things through Freecycle(TM). I have also gotten rid of a
    lot of things I didn't want or need anymore. I may be a bit prejudiced
    though since I am a co-owner of the Salt Lake Freecycle group. We just
    went over 6000 members. It is great. IMHO (LOL)
