Does anyone know of a decent after-market brake QR? The brake I'm using had one on the lever, but I'm using a different lever. The bike has no existing brake hardware, so I'm going from scratch with 990- style U-brakes. I'd think that you could put one in-line someplace.
It would be logical to build it into the housing anchor above the straddle. I just don't want to spend hours reinventing the wheel if reasonable solutions already exist.

Typically, centerpulls release their straddle cable in lieu of a QR. Weinmann or Dia-Compe (likely both, thanks to their crosss-licensing deals) made front & rear hangers with integrated QRs, which came in handy for their centerpulls with dual-headed straddle cables. Those may be hard to find, though. Loose Screws doesn't have them anymore, so you're probably left with Ebay.

Such is life!
I like 'em on the lever the best because I'm always forgetting to reset the darn things!
