Open Powercontrol IV

I don't believe that you're suppose to do that. The SRM folks encourage you to send it in if you believe it needs to be opened.

I know but........as they say on another website "if you cant open you dont own it"😉

As SRM no longer service the PC IV then you have nothing to lose by opening it if it's playing-up. Anyway, take the 4 screws out the back and run a thin blade such as a scalpel several times around the joint you can see on the rear to cut the silicone sealant they've loaded it with. Then a slight bit of prizing with a small screwdriver should open it. Don't be too ambitious when prizing it as the ribbon cables for the LCD and buttons will be connected and you could damage them. Unplug the buttons ribbon cable and the LCD ribbon (pull-up the white tabs on the PCB connector) and you have 2 halves. Remember to seal it up again when you put it back together😄 .
