To become physically or mentally addicted to riding bikes? Due to college and work, I had not ridden my bike in over two weeks, and every day that went by it seemed like I became angrier, moodier, less social, and easier to [censored], to the point where my friends had become concerned and pointed out the change. Didn't feel like ever doing anything, and did nothing but complain about just about everything, and snapped at very close friends a number of times. Yesterday I finally got out for a nice 40 mile ride, and voila, it seems I'm back to my normal, happy self. So is it probable, or even possible for one to become physically and/or mentally dependent on riding bikes?
Note: I've been riding all kinds of bikes, at least 5-6 days a week since I was probably around 10 years old. This is the first time I've really had something like this happen where I just didn't have time to do some sort of pedaling.
Some call it "runners high" in extremis it is called "exercise addiction".
If you can't get to ride just a little every so often, and in any case, check out your diet, what you're eating, reduce the sugar content and anything with yellow food colouring.
Another suggestion is to get a stationary trainer. You can pedal and read/study at the same time. It is nothing like being out on your bike, but it is better than not riding at all.

Yea I have a trainer. Problem is no room to set it up.
happens to me. Haven't ridin in a while, don't know how much more I can take it.... I'm getting my pro trainer soon, so then i can ride, cause I live in the city, and have to take a car out of it, and haven't been able to get out.
