I'm sorry to deflate your fantasy here Edie, but that's not Tom's body. It's his head and left arm plastered on someone else's body. But hey, since it's a fantasy anyway, its probably.......

Oh I get it, YOU did the cut and paste edit. Do you work for a publishing/art/graphics company?

  2. I have noticed that when we take a break from talking about cycling then the posts go why up and the trolls go back under the bridge.

For me, I don't like discussing the sport while we have the 800 pound doping gorilla attached to every event and I hate complaining about something that I have no solution for solving the problem.

Besides, if things get too stuffy in here, you can always have an espesso in the Bike Cafe.

Edie, why is his right arm four times as big as his left. I know his right arm is closer to the camera, but Tom doesn't have big arms (at least not when he slept with me in 2005). Either this is a photoshop edit or he's playing a lot of tennis at the moment.🙂

I can tell you why his right arm is so developed, but I don't want to shatter your illusions.
    A hint...it wasn't tennis... 😄 😄 😄

I get it. He's been constantly playing around with his stem and head-tube.🙂

So you actually watch cyclists and men in general do this?

  7. Sweet. No more troll.

As much as I agree with you on this one, you can't leave. That would leave no one for me to argue with.
The forum has sunk to new lows..... and unless LA comes back from retirement to get people yapping at each other's throats again, I don't see much hope for the forum as long as the idiot is allowed to spam us.
    Just don't go too far.........

The season is over... but soon the 2008 routes of the Grand Tours will be announced and we post about the 2008 GT's.........

Thanks for the heads up. That should be interesting..... I wonder if they're going to re-introduce the team time-trial to the TdF.

I never liked the team time trial (or any time trial for that matter). Its just boring to watch and only serves to eliminate good riders from contention way too early.

I think they should try something new. Instead of a TTT or a prologue, they should start with a 20 k stage. The stage would be run in 9 waves with each team having a single rider in each wave. The strategy would be wild. Generally, a team would want its GC contender to be in the fastest wave to gain as much time on the rest of the field. This would mean that most of the GC guys would probably end up in the same wave together with some sprinters mixed in. The GC guys would have to cooperate with each other to avoid loosing time to riders in other waves. Everybody would be looking for the leader's jersey so you would see people sitting in for the win. If too many people sat in, the entire waive would loose time on GC. So, there would probably be alot of attacking, etc. It poses a real conundrum. The type of tactical problems that make bike racing great.

From a fan's perspective, it would be wild with nine different races, each one playing out differntly and each having a potential impact on GC.

I hope not, or at least not in the usual form. I don't think the TTT should count for GC. It penalizes those who are not on big teams, and they are already at a disadvantage. Winning a TTT stage is prestigious enough that teams will try to win it even if it doesn't count for GC.

I think the ASO should put in a gravel climb like the Giro d'Italia. They should find a way to get around the hinderance of the huge entourage that has prevented them from using some climbs. Have the Tour entourage detour around the climb and use motorcycles for support.

They should reduce the total individual time trial distance to that used in the Giro and Vuelta, maybe not every year but every other year. This would open the race up to some of the Italians and Spanish who cannot do a decent 60K ITT.

  15. Interesting idea....

Yeah I agree with CH.....good idea Frigo. It would be interesting to watch.🙄

  17. An interesting concept.

Wouldn't it throw a spanner in the works if teams couldn't select which group a rider could go in. Line them up at sign in for a start time lucky dip.
Real pot luck then, image a gun GC rider getting a group on no GC interest riders, he'd have a lot of work to do with no help.

A non GC rider could go in an earlier group, drop out of his and help the GC rider.
    Very interesting idea indeed.

One of the waves could have a cap on the time they could loose. For instance, the last wave would be guarantied to loose no more than 2 or 3 minutes on the winner. So, all of the teams would put their leader in this group. This would time limit would keep all of the GC guys in contention but still cause a real race.
