  1. I'm running the Big Sur Half Marathon on Nov 11th and am traveling
from Minnesota. I really only know the course is scenic and hilly.
Minnesota isn't exactly hilly so I'm trying to see what I'm up
against. Does anyone have an idea what this course is like?

Crossing the starting line is 90%.
Crossing the finish line is the other 90%.

Thanks. I'm more wondering what sorts of hills, which this doesn't
provide. Some call the Twin Cities Marathon hilly, but largely
because of where some large hills come in the race. This is a
different challenge than a course with many gently rolling hills. Is
it many hills or just a few large ones? Are there long ones or do
they come at tough points in the race?

If the website doesn't have an altitude profile available, it may have a
    course map.

Then you can plot the course using www.gmap-pedometer.com

(zoom in on the area, select hybrid view if you like, and plot the course
using double-clicks. Then click on the Elevation: off small large (I use
large) link in the left box.

That will give you a rough profile map of the course.

She blew me too! But as I reached down to fondle her, I discovered
"she" was a "he". Best BJ I ever got.

I have no way to know if the route is accurate but if you go here there is a
"show elevation" bar at the lower part of the screen. Good luck

Oh interesting - it's a totally different date, race, course, location
from the Big Sur Marathon. This half marathon appears to be in
Monterey, not what I think of as Big Sur. Hence "Big Sur Half
    Marathon on Monterey Bay".

So whereas the marathon is famously hilly, the half sounds quite
    flat. From http://www.bigsurhalfmarathon.org/Page205.aspx -

At mile 4, runner's [sic] will make a left hand
turn onto Fountain Avenue, and the only hill of
any size on the course (don't worry, it is a
    short hill!)
