Giant touring with disc brakes repooort?

Yes, it is fantastic. US$1,299 is a bit dear, but this thing was a joy to ride. The one unforgivable
thing was that it didn't include fenders or a rack. There are mounts, but, at $1300, they could have
at least included something.

The three spoke holders seem like a good idea--better than those temporary kevlar ones--but then,
I've never broken a spoke before. One complaint, if they have the sense to braze on spoke holders,
why no pump mounts? Just carry along a shock pump, I guess.

The fully-equiped one which I road was pretty heavy after a few weeks of a barebones OCR-3, so it
felt like driving a moose. But, in actuallity, it was almost certainly the lightest touring bike I'd
ever ridden.

is the bike ridden often?? how does the rear disc work in the rain and in the rain of chain lube. is
it possible to use chain oil or is wax necessary? and over time and miles does the brake unit last
without excessive repair and adjustment?? is it so reliable that one rides and doesn't wonder what's
going on down there?
