  1. Im going to be heading out to Cali for a week in last week of January.

    1. Whats the weather going to be like for biking?
    2. Anywhere I can hire a decent bike in Freemont or surrounding area? I would be willing to hire
    from San Francisco.

Im from the UK so anything I should know with regards to biking in the US of A?

    Thanks

    Yes.

Cali is in Colombia and California is in the former colonies.

Never call San Francisco "Frisco" for the same reason.

    Weather:

    1. It could be raining.
    2. It could be dry but cold (50 farenheit)

No idea about the bike rental thing in Fremont but there are a number of shops in SF that will
    rent a MTB.

Much of the riding around Fremont is boring fireroad that turns to a clay mess when wet.

Marin, just North of SF, has plenty of "classic" rides that are fine in the wet/rain.

You could also try San Mateo and Santa Cruz Counties, both have good trails and are within a hour or
    so from Fremont

If he wants to be a clueless tourist, let him have at it. I have to laugh at those who call
    California by that misnomer.

Yeah, Frisco has much better mountain biking in the heart of Summit County, Colorado.
