I'm outta here too! I am so sick of the thread hijacks on every damn thread and turning it into a doping suspicion thread. WBT is a hugh culprit of this! I wanna read about the riders and the races. I have in the past suggested keeping it to a doping thread, but to no avail. Check out the Daily Peleton boards. Much better!

I guess that's why I posted a thread about this forum dying. I read these boards long before joining and it was always lively. Even when I did finally join, I didn't post that much until recently, yet it was still brisk. Of course seasonal highs and lows are to be expected, but, I think the observation about ulle vs lance, east vs west is an astute one.

Personally, I tried getting back into the sport. The entire Ullrich saga was really disappointing. Even so, during the first two weeks of this year's tour, it was exciting again. but when the organizers and governing bodies can't get their acts together and the fight against doping so arbitrary, it is difficult. Every competition resorts to doping controversy. The rasmussen situation and the crowning of Alberto, old = dirty young = clean propaganda was almost too much to take. The Omerta is killing the sport and hypocrisy, at least for me, deflates any contribution I may want to add.

It is unfortunate that great contributors to this forum are leaving or just come by once in awhile. The best thing to do is to ignore that one poster. Let him die out, not the forum.

...and thats what I find annoying. I stood on the Plan de Corones the day before stage to take photos for this forum. I cant help if Basso, Ullrich and every other cyclist we loved used the needle..... Its about balance..... we can cheer them on but if they want play dirty then we should talk about how much they lied.

I haven't posted in a while. On close examination, I know Flyer isn't the reason for this. The fact is, when I first joined this forum something like two years ago, I really enjoyed [censored] with the people who thought the sport was clean. I mean, [censored], just the weird altered universes that existed out there for some people. It was truly amazing.

But now, only the completely delusional believe that their guy is clean and everyone else cheats, and the completely delusional won't come out of their closets often enough to make things interesting. Now everyone is on the same side of the argument, which really makes you wonder about Flyer. I mean, who's he preaching to?

Anyway, sport, for me, is a reflection of culture. It's interesting to examine it and how people from different parts of the world follow it and what they believe and what they understand. With the doping situation in cycling, this aspect was amplified for me.

If the core posters of this forum didn't respond to these "hijacks" there wouldn't be anything for them to carry on about, and maybe they'll go and get on their bikes (if theyy know how to ride) and ride to some interesting places and realise that the world isn't completely full of conspiracy, cheating, lying and hate.

I obviously don't need to tell anyone my opinion about the misogynist troll.

I think I'll write in a journal instead of a forum this winter. This gives me the obvious disadvantage of having to laugh at my own jokes, plus I have become dependent on emoticons. And I'll have to tape my own tiny pictures of Clive Owen in the margins. But it might help keep me sane...

Anyway, spring will come, the sun will shine, and we'll all believe again...

The fact of the matter is that a couple of so-called users, who are trolling oon other cycling sites, have attempted to troll over here as well.

So it seems to me that there is a couple of remedies needed.
The current membership needs to know that certain previously banned identities, are attempting to post/troll using new identities and to not engage with them.

And the administrator/moderators needs to block all attempts, by these banned trolls to rejoin and to troll on this Forum.

99.9% of members here want to read/exchange views : and do so effectively and reasonably.
