I am considering upgrading the fork on my ride. I have a steel frame that I love, but would like to lighten the load a bit. Anyone have a recommendation? I need something with around 45mm rake. I am looking at the reynolds ouzo. Your input would help.

If it's an old school stel frame even an inexpensive house brand fork from Nashbar or Performance will lighten the load without lightening your wallet. Reynolds ouzo is a nice fork, but might be an expensive overkill form your frame.

I don't know about wher you live, but full-carbon 1" forks are usually very expensive down here.
After my badly chromed steel fork on my old Raleihg got a bit rusty, I put on a generic carbon fork (aluminium steerer) with broad blades, and it almost transformed the bike. It handles SO much better.
There are a bazillion options out there, including no-name brands. If you want an affordable brand-name fork with an alu steerer, ITM have a relatively one; the Visia.
