I don't understand why French ITT champion Vaugrenard is starting 67th out of 69. Isn't start order decided on increasing order of merit? Is Hossein Askari of the Islamic Republic of Iran really the 26th seed, or even good enough to qualify for this race period. I wonder if he's ever even passed a drug test. Now that's something to take to the CAS.

I just logged in to CyclingTV at 12:32 which has the live feed but no commentary (for the next 2 hours hopefully). It's so great to finally see a bike race without all the useless banter. Yesterday afternoon, CyclingTV also left the feed on after the end of the race and it just went on and on as the cameraman walked away from the podium. Great shots of the sidewalk and people's feet being broadcast to the entire world.
